FAQ

Why does the plastic bag have writing on it?

Why is there ‘made in china’ printed on the bag, I thought this was handmade in the US?

In order to reduce waste, especially plastic waste, all of my plastic bags are reused. If there is handwriting on them they are from my local bead store, but most are from online orders. None of the bags have had food in them!

Where do you get your leather?

All of the leather I use is scrap leather, purchased from companies that make leather goods. If the scraps weren’t resold, they would be trash, so very little money is going back to the leather industry. The cattle/ beef industry exists and using scrap leather is a way to promote using the whole animal.

Why do you use real leather rather than vegan ‘leather’?

Vegan ‘leather’ is just a fancy name for plastic. With long term use, plastics will break down and stop becoming a usable item much faster than leather. The production of vegan ‘leather’ creates a ton of waste and creates an item that will shed microplastics.

Long term, it is better to use natural leather, even though the production process can be quite wasteful, to create a long lasting item that will fully decompose.
